Leadership in times of crisis

Leaders are increasingly faced with dealing with sudden incidents that trigger negative public attention and have negative consequences for the organization.

You will get the following 3 things from this webinar:

  • We emphasize organizational, managerial and human factors
  • We dive into the 5-phase model for crisis management
  • We provide concrete tools for what to do when scandal strikes

On the webinar you will meet

Johanne Grant - Senior Consultant at LEAD - Enter next level. She works with leadership development, organizational development and work environment development. Through her business PhD, Johanne has focused particularly on organizations' handling of scandals, and therefore advises top managers and HR staff on how to emerge stronger from major crises.

In scandals, there is something moral at stake - something that is unique to the organization and hard to "shake off". A leader's handling of scandals is crucial to how the company comes through the process. At the same time, it often defines the work life, engagement and well-being of employees and managers on the other side of the scandal.

Description continues in the next section.

How do you handle the scandal?

Read one of Johanne Grant's articles, where she shares her own practical experience as a consultant and her advice on how you as a leader should NOT handle a scandal internally - and what you SHOULD do, so that both you and the organization can get through this difficult time in the best possible way.

While you probably don't expect to need these insights, we recommend that you, as a manager or HR manager, familiarize yourself with the management discipline of dealing with a scandal. We're seeing more and more organizational scandals and this isn't likely to change anytime soon - we're in the golden age of scandals.

Dealing with a scandal is one of the hardest things you can face as a leader - and one of the hardest things you can learn from. It's therefore crucial that leaders are able to navigate the tough stuff, learn from it and bring the organization out the other side stronger.

You will be introduced to research and experience-based knowledge about scandal management:

  • We provide concrete suggestions on what we need to do to build a resilient organization that can prevent scandals
  • We look at how we can learn and evolve from a scandal
  • We present the typical pitfalls of scandal management
  • We elaborate on the human consequences of scandals - how we react to scandals and how we can handle ourselves if the organization is hit by a scandal

How do we work with crisis management in LEAD?

At LEAD, we work primarily with the dynamics that play out on the inside of organizations, with a particular focus on the psychological, managerial and organizational aspects of crisis management. Since no two crises are the same, we always tailor our services to fit the context and needs of each individual organization.

Should we have a no-obligation dialog?

We can help with all types of leadership development, whether it's tailored development programs, courses, training, workshops, lectures or anything else.
