Focus on bullying has a positive impact

Studies from the National Research Center for the Working Environment show that approximately 12 percent of all employees experience workplace bullying every year. Bullying is not limited to certain professions and can occur in any workplace. Even if bullying is not visible in your own workplace, prevention is important to strengthen workplace resilience to bullying in the future.

Studies indicate that companies' focus on bullying has a positive impact as it creates a safer atmosphere that positively affects well-being and performance. Although bullying has individual consequences, collective action is needed to prevent it in the workplace. According to the Working Environment Act, the employer is responsible for preventing physical or mental health deterioration as a result of bullying or sexual harassment.

Studies show that organizations with bullying have four characteristics that set them apart from organizations without bullying: role conflict, role ambiguity, higher workloads and less satisfaction with management.
