Mads Svendsen
Seasoned change management advisor with extensive experience in global organizational transformation and development. Having led numerous high-impact initiatives, Mads excels in strategic planning, organizational development, and change leadership,. His expertise includes business model reviews, change management advisory, toolkit development, team building, complex analytics, and facilitation. Mads has a proven track record of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within the United Nations and other international organizations, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
At the United Nations, Mads has focused on the Efficiency Agenda of the Secretary-General, enhancing efficiency across six service lines: Procurement, ICT, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, and Administration. He led the Functional Review of the IMO Secretariat, strengthening strategy, systems, processes, structures, and skills for sustainable shipping. Additionally, he managed an internal management consulting team within UNDP and coordinated Advisory Services for UNLOCK, advising on operations, management, and organizational change.
Mads holds an MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master’s degree in economics from Copenhagen University. He is passionate about driving positive change and improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
