Violence and Threats

Authorized Occupational Health Advisor

What are Violence and Threats?

Violence includes physical attacks/intended harm; threats refer to statements/actions causing fear of violence/harm (Danish Working Environment Authority, 2022).

Violence/threats at work must be taken seriously—they have far-reaching personal/professional consequences; without prevention/management they lead to insecurity, absence, low morale/retention; they affect well-being/performance/reputation/legal standing.

The Danish Working Environment Authority emphasizes that all aspects of work must be planned/executed so safety/health are ensured—for both short-/long-term risks related to violence—even outside working hours.
