Mia Seppo
Mia has coordinated UN responses to some of the world’s most pressing crises – from the Rohingya refugee influx and COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh to resilience programmes in Zimbabwe and national crisis responses in Malawi. At the ILO, she directed the Jobs and Social Protection Cluster, advancing global agendas on youth employment, just transitions, small business productivity and social protection systems.
Mia is a senior international leader with more than 25 years of experience across the United Nations and most recently as Assistant Director-General at the International Labour Organization. Her career has been dedicated to advancing human rights, social justice and sustainable development through leadership in complex political and humanitarian contexts.
Mia brings a proven ability to build coalitions, lead organizational transformation and drive impact at scale – always guided by purpose, collaboration and justice.
